All staff of licensed child care programs and registered family day care homes are required to have 10 clock hours of professional development training each year. Any individual who wishes to provide training to ECE professionals for licensing credit must first become approved with a Trainer Designation and then must submit trainings for approval. Georgia Training Approval does not schedule, manage or provide training.
The following steps outline the process for becoming an approved trainer in Georgia:
- Review the Trainer Designation requirements so that you will be familiar with the qualifications and documentation required for each designation before you begin the application.
- Create an account, or if you already have one, sign in to your account.
- Complete the Trainer Orientation. The orientation is a PDF presentation and online quiz about Georgia Training Approval and professional development that must be completed prior to beginning the Trainer Designation application.
- Complete the online Trainer Designation Application.
You will be notified of the status of your application.
Once your application has been reviewed and approved, you will be ready to submit trainings for approval.
